Baby Fever Reliever

Lately, my friends have been getting baby fever. Being the well-informed and loving friend that I am, I make it my duty to enlighten them on the unknown facts. Moms love posting on social media trying to make it seem like motherhood is all glorious. Well, it's not. Here are some things anyone with baby fever should keep in mind.

1. IT'S UNCOMFORTABLE AF!

First of all, women are pregnant for 40 weeks (not nine months). Then it takes at least two months for your body to recover. THAT'S A WHOLE YEAR!! I naturally sleep on my stomach. Obviously, I couldn't do that while I was pregnant. What you may not know is that you LITERALLY cannot breathe if you sleep on your back. Organs shift to make room for the baby and your lungs will check out if you try to sleep on your back. Once you start getting bigger, it's more comfortable to sleep in a chair.

2. NO TIME TO BE SHY. Unless you have bomb ass health insurance coverage, you most likely will see different doctors throughout all your appointments. Those doctors have lil docs in training getting hands-on experience. Of course, you see different nurses. Then depending on your child's condition you have specialists. Throughout all my doctor appointments (your last month or so you start going to the doctor weekly) I opened my legs to so many physicians that you get used to it. When I gave birth I had about 10 people in the room.

3. KIDS ARE EXPENSIVE. Most people are aware of this but I like to reiterate. A lot of mothers assume they will breastfeed but it's not always a guarantee. Some babies reject the nipple. In my case, my milk started to dry up when London was around four months old. Of course diapers, wipes, a new wardrobe every month, daycare, etc. This pricey mentality does not die down as the child gets older...shit is still expensive!

So, as you fight through baby fever, keep these facts in mind. Along with the hard truth that personal time becomes nonexistent. Push through the urges and give yourself another three years before interrupting your current lifestyle. Thank me later.
