I tapped in with Nija, and she dropped a lot of gems. This hard-working, chart-topping writer and composer has turned collaboration into a new wave. Matter-of-fact, she met with FKA Twiggs, Normani, and Mulatto this week! Her first radio hit, "Ring", introduced her to the world. She is a Union, New Jersey native, which is where her diverse interest in music began. A young, gifted, and Black woman who is a firm believer that hooks are better than verses. Her work ethic is crazy and as diverse as her ear.

Now, she is in a place where she wants to push herself musically to new challenges. "So far, R&B is the easiest to write. KaPop is harder for me to write, so I look forward to doing more of that". As we all continue to come out of this pandemic, we're figuring out how to create a new norm. This can be difficult, especially for creatives, as we recognize that our interests are peaked and stimulated by different things. Nija admits that television has helped her keep her ideas fresh during the pandemic.

One thing about staying consistent, especially as a writer and producer, is that you have a vault full of opportunities. "Usually I don't rework a song. I like what I write (laughing), and if you don't that's fine. I have too many songs for artists to listen to and consider to sweat and pull apart one song. I will rework a song under two conditions. One, if it's a word or a line then I'll rework it for the artist. Two, I'll rework a song if it's for Beyonce. Whenever she sends me notes, I make adjustments. I've reworked a song for Beyonce four or five times". She plans on sharing her creative space and process on TikTok in the near future. As far as the programs that she uses: for samples she uses Ableton, for drums she uses FL Studios, and for beats she uses Reason.

"People don't know that Giveon is really funny. Mulatto and I have had zero misses together. I love working with both of them". After sharing her insight into some of the culture's favorite artists, she mentioned her other passions. "I'm very serious and passionate about television. I will be making t.v. shows. I'm also into fashion. I use to be into photography and I see myself doing that again at some point in life".
