Music Spotlight: "You're Safe Here" by Lrk Chronicle

Lrk Chronicle's tone is smooth and captivating. The video opens up and you immediately bear witness to various primitive impressions of Black women candidly being spiritual, quiet, and loving. His new video, "You're Safe Here" is an ascetically luring glimpse of Black Girl Magic. Juxtaposed with conscientious lyrics about what is pure and necessary in women. This pairing pays tribute to a video format that you don't see a lot these days. This music video is the perfect example of the key foundational component of what hip-hop was built on. Our stories, our courage, our talents, and gifts are for the benefit of the people, not a calculated ploy to becoming a "celebrity." It takes vision, courage, and confidence for an artist to not be in their own video. Lrk Chronicle's absence from the video allows his lyrics to shine. The door-knocker earrings, shea butter, brown hues, fros, and natural coils moved together in unison to bring his beautiful message to life. Black women are an antidote protected and respected by Black men.
