Know Your Fine Line
Ideally, accountability should be acquired with ease the older we get. Wrong! It’s as if it gets harder. Nothing is worse than a grown person completely unable to find the minimal strength it takes to say “my bad,” “I’m sorry,” or “I could have handled that better.” It’s as if it hurts to be entirely honest.
On top of the stress, how do you decipher the appropriate time to hold someone accountable? When do you contact your manager’s superiors, clap back at a family member/friend, or contact the authorities? Depending on the dynamics between that particular person the line may be thin. However, it’s critical that we never waiver on the chance to protect our peace.
The line between ignoring and checking one’s disrespectful/inconsiderate ways is subjective. The fact that making this decision is personal should be comforting. How amazing is it to know that solace is in our hands? Therefore, it’s imperative that we take full advantage. Really own what you allow near your energy. Know your ‘fine line’ and prepare for immediate elimination for anyone detrimental to your progression.
